The number of publications in foreign additions and visits of other countries in order to attend international conferences in 1996-97 is twice as much as it was in 1995-96.
Ulyanovsk State Technical University is conducting the direct work for entering to World educational system through the development of wide international relations with educational scientific and public organizations, firms and funds of Western Europe, America, Asia and the Near East.
The main partners of USTU in the sphere of education and science are: Durham
University (Great Britain), Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State
University (USA), Darmstadt Technical University (Germany), the University of
Gettingen (Germany), Taiwan Technical University (Chins), Roanoke College
(USA).
During last 3 years a number of coeducational programs were developed:
Academic, scientific and culture exchanges are realizing with the help of international organizations and funds: DAAD, Soros Fund, IREX, TACIS, Fulbright fund, etc.
In the bounds of the Internet development program the University have received the network equipment and program means for the creation of local net of Internet.
Since 1992 our University realizes the education of foreign citizens, including probationers from Great Britain, Germany, USA and other countries. Total number of foreign university graduates is 55.
Ulyanovsk City Inter-university Center of International Collaboration, created on base of USTU is functioning for more than 5 years. It realizes the coordination work and helps to develop the international activity of the Universities and scientific organizations of Ulyanovsk.
More than 40 students, about 80 professors and workers took part in academic
and scientific exchanges during last 3 years. More than 70 foreign professors
and workers visited our University with scientific purposes.
